Queenstown Elopement Packages | Romantic Sunrise Intimate Wedding
The Lovers Elopement Co curate Queenstown Elopement Packages for modern and stylish lovers. In early autumn the team created this romantic wanderlust styled elopement which was featured in the new 2019 Edition of The Wild Hearts Magazine – one of the most beautiful NZ publications for the wild and creative heart. This epic collaboration showcases how The Lovers team work together as a collective to create modern and stylish intimate weddings that are soulful and as unique as our couples.
Our leading lens lady Dawn Thomson Photography captured every dreamy detail of the day and featuring flora by Gypsy from The Vase Flora & Foliage, in dusky, romantic earth tones and draped with soft organic silks billowing in the wild Autumn winds. Handwritten vow books filled with love notes, a candlelit sunrise ceremony and an intimate picnic for two beautifully styled by Stacey of Colour Me Happy. The day was beautifully filmed by the talented Emily from Woven Images.
“There are no borders with love…it is wild and free…love is untamed hope” – J. Iron Word
Ceremony
Central Otago is one of the most beautiful landscapes in New Zealand and lies just outside of Queenstown making it the perfect choice for this intimate ceremony location. The area is dotted with wineries, heritage sites and surprising vistas and we loved the diversity of scenery compared to the more dramatic mountains of Queenstown. The ceremony site was a short walk into an almost desert like terrain of the most beautiful terracotta colours and stark mountain backdrops. We loved the romance of a sunrise ceremony with the candle light being the only light until the sun crept across the valley floor and the richness of the landscape swirled in colours of apricot and gold. It really was breathtaking!!
Johnny and Sierra read their beautiful hand written vows in this first light and it was as if time stood still for this touching and emotional ceremony.
Dress
Sierra wore layers of chiffon and silk in stunning Piece 13 from Australian bridal fashion label L’ETO Bridal. The soft layers and tie up bodice added a bohemian touch to the fitted gown. Tapping into a light and feminine mood, the sweeping maxi skirt and tie up top were effortlessly carefree and stylish and caught the breeze beautifully! Our make up and hair superstar Olivia Wild Beauty created her signature look with glowing and natural skin and Sierra wore soft waves in her hair.
In contrast Johnny wore a stunning navy blue suit from Sergio’s Menswear which brought out the blue in the hand dyed floral ribbon and of the sky in the otherwise muted landscape.
Florals
Inspired by the autumnal colours our floral queen Gypsy created a wild wedding bouquet of dusky terracotta and smokey greys to compliment the muted tones of the barren landscape of Central Otago. “During our location scout to Central Otago and observing the arid landscape I was inspired to create a floral piece that reflected the surrounds. The harsh dry desert like terrain was reflected with the use of my dried foraged floral delights from the local area and softened with the addition of my home grown orchids. I added a watercolour wash to the orchids to bring in the dusky tones and complimented this with a smokey grey and white hand dyed raw silk ribbon” – Gypsy.
Styling
Stacey created the most beautiful styling for the intimate sunrise ceremony. The landscape created the stunning backdrop so any styling element was brought in to compliment this in a subtle and stylish way. Candles and soft organic fabrics created an intimate and meaningful space for the ceremony. Beautiful hand written vows tied in hand dyed ribbons added a lovely touch to the ceremony and will be a treasured keepsake too. Following the ceremony our couple soaked up the magic of their day while enjoying a delicious gourmet grazing platter for two.
